High Tea anyone? No thanks – HIGH COFFEE please.
I had the privilege to welcome DEKATv with Lifestyle Editor, Aleit Swanepoel, to a crisp winters-morning garden party.
Using The Garden of Eden as inspiration, the A Place courtyard was transformed into a heavenly-meets-Marie Antoinette-garden-fête. I made soft chiffon and lace-ribbon curtains to create a wall between reality and our blush, white and gold garden filled with sugary goodness.
Dating back to Queen Victoria’s era, traditionally a High Tea would be the norm for a garden party…However, I’d much rather prefer a good cappuccino over a cuppa tea, so opted for a “High Coffee instead.” In keeping with the theme, I asked Magnificent Barista Boys to serve us their speciality coffees, which complemented the sweet delicacies from Le Petit Four wonderfully.
Bottomless Coffee Band graced us with their beautiful sound – lending a folky-classic-rock air to this (already different) garden party.
Food and cutlery alike were made of gold, tea cups served as vases and we ate little Marie Antoinette faces as a mid morning snack – did we fall down a rabbit hole?
Loved this oh-so-cool morning event so very much!!!
